Girls Day Out, Part One

We had a girls day out yesterday. My mom's two sisters are here visiting so Grace and I joined them for a fun afternoon. First we went to a cute tea room in Perry and had lunch. Then we walked across the street and went through the Hotel Pattee, which is an old restored hotel. They have 40 rooms and they all have a different theme. We toured the Louis Armstrong room, the Dutch room, the Japanese room, and the Kids room. The hotel is all done in the Arts & Crafts style, so the woodwork and the light fixtures are absolutely gorgeous. I could move right in :).

Grace and Ava

Grace has a new little best friend that lives behind us. I'm so glad she found someone to play with after we moved! Ava is so cute, they have a great time together.

A circle lunch

Today I made Ben a circle lunch...everything was round. He got a kick out of it...it's the little things that make him happy :).

Ouch, poor Tyler!

Tyler had to get his remaining 3 baby teeth pulled at the dentist today. One still had roots and wasn't coming out by itself, the other two were canine teeth and had HUGE tops on them....those suckers weren't coming out either!
He's in a little pain this afternoon, but really not much. Ben said "The tooth fairy is going to be bringing SOMEONE lots of money tonight!". The top 2/3 of the two canines in the pic was above Tyler's gums:

Um, oops, the hose broke

I broke the stupid hose box tonight when I watered the plants. The hose sprung a couple of leaks too where it always kinks and rubs the cement. Grace decided to play in the leak with her clothes on, and since it was about 110 degrees out, I let her!
You know it's hot when your camera lens fogs up!

And just because it's cute...after sprinkler!

My beautiful nieces!

I guess I should say OUR beautiful nieces :). Yesterday was Tabitha's birthday and she is now...wait for it....23 years old! No way! There is no way this sweet adorable little flower girl is 23 now:

Look how cute and little they are! And Melissa's birthday is coming up...on August 14th she will be 21. That's the beautiful little 2 year old on the left. I can't believe you two have grown up so much! You are both so beautiful and kind and loving.....GREAT girls that I hope Grace will turn out to be like when she grows up. You are her heroes!! Happy Birthday girls!! Oh, and she's still waiting for that make-up and clothes shopping trip with you guys. Even though she's only 5 she knows her shopping :).

The next Roger Federer

or so he hopes :). Matt has shown an interest in tennis lately, and I'm all for showing an interest in something! So we signed him up for a tennis camp taught by the HS tennis team, then a tennis tournament run by the city. The camp was great & Matt had a good time...he really learned a lot. The tournament was a bit disjointed and disorganized. Matt played at 8 am, then not until 12:30. But they couldn't give a firm time on when he'd play so we sat around in the (H.O.T) sun for 4 hours sweating our tails off. He lost both of his matches but played really well for just learning how 2 weeks ago!! He was discouraged by his performances, but he really did do a great job. He's playing in another camp in September. Here are some pics from his first game:

Tyler's friend Andy was playing in the older kids bracket so Grace got to play with Andy's brother Sam. I took them to the playground for awhile during our 4 HOUR layover.
